Forum: texts Subject: Djvu and Firefox 3.5

Firefox 3.5 comes with a built-in Djvu viewer called "DjView File" - it's based on old software and basically sucks, but is the default. The best viewer is the "Lizardtech Official DjVu Browser Plug-in" which can be downloaded here:

If you have not installed recently recommended the latest version which has new features.

For some reason when clicking on the .djvu file from the main book page it still defaults to Firefox's crappy DjView File viewer. But if you click on the .djvu file from under the HTTP link it will bring up the better viewer.

I've found the latest Djvu program as good and sometimes better than the IA reader (formally Flipbook) because it has better control for maximizing the sizing of pages on smaller laptop screens (ie. ability to hide the menu bar, and maintains right-hand scroll bar position between page flips), plus a bunch of other features, although the IA reader has some nice features as well: quick to load, great 2-page view.
